The Annual Teachers' Day and the Teachers' Club Silver
Jubilee celebrations will be held this year in two
Since it's foundation on the 17th August 1982, the Teachers'
Club has established itself as a significant association in the
teachers' world in Mauritius. It has been very active in the
organising leisure, sports, forums & debates cultural and other
social events with favourable outcomes.
The club is opened to Primary School Teachers of Mauritius as
well as to their respective families. For the past few years we
have made the first step, though rather timidly but surely in
trying to include secondary school teachers as well in our
Furthermore, it is of utmost noteworthiness to mention that with
the Teachers' Club intervention that the 5th October has been
declared a school holiday, a day to honour teachers, thus
celebrating the World Teachers' Day. So the Teachers' Club
rightfully claimed the paternity of the celebration of the
Teachers' Day in Mauritius.
To provide recreational
facilities to its members.
To encourage its members to
engage in cultural, artistic and sportive activities.
To bring together the
drivers of the primary school teachers in an atmosphere of
camaraderie and mutual respect.
